About the role
- Responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the requirements of the Safety standards are achieved.
- Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
- Develop health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
- Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
- Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
- Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Responsible for setting up and maintain controls and documentation procedures.
- Liaising with customers’ auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications.
- Leads ISO Audits to drive success in our certifications in all areas and leads CAR to ensure completion.
- Leads Risk Audits in the facility and leads CAR for findings to ensure completion.
- Ensures compliance with national and international standards and legislation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or equivalent technical field and/or combination of education and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience
- Experience in LEAN manufacturing environment/methodologies
- Knowledge and experience in OHSA and TOSHA Guidelines
- Demonstration of leadership and strong analytical skills
- Strong communication skills with an ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
