About the role

  • Responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the requirements of the Safety standards are achieved.
  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Develop health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintain controls and documentation procedures.
  • Liaising with customers’ auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers’ specifications.
  • Leads ISO Audits to drive success in our certifications in all areas and leads CAR to ensure completion.
  • Leads Risk Audits in the facility and leads CAR for findings to ensure completion.
  • Ensures compliance with national and international standards and legislation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or equivalent technical field and/or combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Experience in LEAN manufacturing environment/methodologies
  • Knowledge and experience in OHSA and TOSHA Guidelines
  • Demonstration of leadership and strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Motivated team player with first-class people skills who enjoys creativity and gets the job done.
