About the role

  • Develop architecture for the transmission of signals and/or power across optical fiber for test and measurement applications.
  • Design and implement optical sampling and signal synthesis topologies.
  • Calibrate and stabilize optical measurements to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Apply domain knowledge of optical data communications systems to enhance system performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate optical technologies into test and measurement systems.
  • Lead projects from concept to implementation, ensuring alignment with business and market needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in physics or optical engineering, advanced degree preferred.
  • 5 or more years of demonstrated experience in optical system design and development.
  • Proficiency in optical o/e and e/o, and SERDES specification and design.
  • Strong understanding of optical and electronics system design and measurement.
  • Experience in calibrating and stabilizing optical measurements.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and project leadership skills.
  • 10+ years of experience in design or system engineering, senior or principal level or promotable within 2 years (preferred).
  • Experience in design across extended temperature ranges (preferred).
  • Experience with digital signal processing methods (preferred).
  • Experience with power transmission over optics (preferred).
  • Proficiency in metrology and the design of calibrated circuits (preferred).
