About the role
- Develop architecture for the transmission of signals and/or power across optical fiber for test and measurement applications.
- Design and implement optical sampling and signal synthesis topologies.
- Calibrate and stabilize optical measurements to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Apply domain knowledge of optical data communications systems to enhance system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate optical technologies into test and measurement systems.
- Lead projects from concept to implementation, ensuring alignment with business and market needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in physics or optical engineering, advanced degree preferred.
- 5 or more years of demonstrated experience in optical system design and development.
- Proficiency in optical o/e and e/o, and SERDES specification and design.
- Strong understanding of optical and electronics system design and measurement.
- Experience in calibrating and stabilizing optical measurements.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and project leadership skills.
- 10+ years of experience in design or system engineering, senior or principal level or promotable within 2 years (preferred).
- Experience in design across extended temperature ranges (preferred).
- Experience with digital signal processing methods (preferred).
- Experience with power transmission over optics (preferred).
- Proficiency in metrology and the design of calibrated circuits (preferred).
