About the role
- Own the Systems-level component category, and build and maintain partnerships with our strategic suppliers to support our next-gen energy storage system scale-up; the Systems-level BOM includes electrical parts such as circuit breakers, load centers, sensors, and wiring etc, as well as mechanical components such as pumps, heaters, conduit, etc.
- Act as the primary contact with suppliers on contract and pricing negotiations, development and production lead times, escalations and resolution
- Drive commercial cost negotiations with suppliers based on cost-models and analyses of current market conditions to ensure Form receives best-in-class pricing
- Monitor current market conditions and technology roadmaps to proactively identify and address any supply challenges and future-proof our sourcing strategy for the Systems category
- Collaborate closely with Form’s Leadership, Supply Chain, Engineering and Strategic Supply teams to define and drive execution of Form’s Systems sourcing strategy
Requirements
- At least 3 years of strategic sourcing, category management, or similar applicable experience in a fast-paced, highly fluid environment
- Deep expertise managing procurement for bulk-purchased off-the-shelf and customized components for use in in battery systems or other similar products, through distribution channels as well as directly from manufacturers
- Outstanding data evaluation and analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills; experience presenting clear recommendations to leadership to drive strategic and operational decision-making
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally approx. 30% of the time
- Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or similar discipline
