About the role

  • Define and contribute to the architectural vision for ServiceNow solutions, aligned with Ford’s enterprise IT strategy.
  • Own solution architecture decisions for assigned ServiceNow domains.
  • Lead architecture and design for complex ServiceNow implementations across modules such as ITSM, ITOM, SPM/ITBM, and the core platform.
  • Ensure solutions follow ServiceNow best practices and integrate seamlessly with enterprise systems.
  • Provide architectural oversight and technical guidance to development teams.
  • Establish and enforce standards, patterns, and governance processes.
  • Identify and reduce technical debt.
  • Drive improvements in platform performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
  • Design high-volume, enterprise integrations using REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub, MID Server, middleware, and event-based patterns (e.g., Kafka).
  • Define data models and support data governance within ServiceNow.
  • Partner with product owners, business analysts, and stakeholders to align architecture with business outcomes.
  • Clearly communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs.
  • Evaluate new ServiceNow releases and emerging capabilities (e.g., AI/ML, automation).
  • Recommend enhancements that maximize platform value.
  • Ensure compliance with Ford security policies and global data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
  • Mentor developers and architects.
  • Contribute to building strong internal ServiceNow capabilities.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in IT solution design and architecture
  • 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow experience as an architect or lead developer
  • Experience delivering large-scale ServiceNow implementations or upgrades in global enterprises
  • Strong experience with ITSM, ITOM, and the ServiceNow platform
  • Proven experience managing technical debt and platform health
  • Experience working in agile and DevOps-based delivery models
  • Deep understanding of ServiceNow architecture, data model, and best practices
  • Strong JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting (Glide APIs)
  • Experience with ServiceNow integrations (REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub, MID Server)
  • Solid understanding of relational data models and performance optimization
  • Experience with source control, CI/CD, and automated testing
