About the role
- Connect with BESS customers to build strong relationships, understand needs, and identify high-value project opportunities.
- Work in partnership with the BESS Sales leads to build the Ford Energy pipeline through face-to-face customer communications, ensuring structured engagement throughout the program bidding process with consistent follow-through.
- Enhance coordination and service across multiple customer contact windows, improving responsiveness and customer experience across the full lead-to-cash cycle, product delivery, and after-sales support.
- Establish program teams consisting of Sales, Program Management, and Engineering to initiate customer program development and execution, and lead delivery with ownership of schedule, quality, cost, and risk management.
- Partner with Sales team to define and align program plans to customer account strategy and expectations.
- Help grow the Program Management function over time with a small team of program managers to scale Ford Energy to more customers and regions.
- Coordinate activities across Sales, Engineering and other key stakeholders to confirm customer qualifications, engagement approach, and delivery of the BESS product according to contract terms.
- Coordinate onsite colleagues from other departments and external parties (e.g., Engineering, Sales and Service) to ensure effective product commissioning and after-sales services execution.
- Proactively drive issue resolution across multiple departments to maintain project progress and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- 8+ years of program/project management experience, ideally in customer-facing delivery environments.
- 5+ years of people leadership/team management experience.
- Familiarity with BESS project business models and project development; preference for candidates with 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
- - Battery Energy storage systems (ESS)
- - Large Scale Electric Power / Utility projects
- - Li-ion battery-related projects
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
- Operations Management, Business Management, Program Management preferred
- Strong communication skills with clear logic, able to manage complex stakeholder environments and customer-facing discussions.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills; able to produce structured updates and executive-ready materials.
- Proven ability to coordinate and collaborate cross-functionally, drive alignment, and resolve issues across departments.
- Proactive, committed, and driven to deliver high standards with strong ownership and follow-through.
- Innovative problem solving and ability to work effectively in a start-up environment.
