Co-Lead the Variability Reduction Team with Manufacturing to address low time in service (LTIS) quality issues after product launch
Prioritize ongoing and emerging issues using leading and lagging indicator data and analysis, focusing on design and production-related problems at the engine plant
Define and investigate issues, including developing trends based on vehicle line, time in service, operating conditions, and locations
Lead and/or support cross-functional teams through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and actions to prevent reoccurrence
Conduct prevent reoccurrence action (PRA) read-across to other engine plants and implement PRAs as appropriate
Represent Product Development during plant containment actions, including quality holds and stop-ship orders
Partner with functional quality personnel to lead discussions on emerging and ongoing propulsion, fuel, and thermal system quality issues
Attend leadership manufacturing and product quality meetings (PQR, FQR, DQR) as needed and lead/attend working-level quality meetings
Develop and execute the Production Validation (PV) plan in conjunction with Plant Launch and Quality Managers
Manage launch-specific alerts and assist in resolving launch issues; support the Concern process and review SREA documents
Support the engine plant's Manage the Change process and conduct trials as necessary
Review and sign annual Engineering Specification (ES) records, Repair Procedures, and Dimensional Control Plan (DCP) documents
Coordinate In-Process (IP) and Conformity of Production engine testing
Learn, follow, and communicate Powertrain Procedures (PTP)
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (proof of degree required; ECA required if degree obtained outside Canada)
5+ years of experience in Engine Product Development, Quality, Manufacturing or Systems Engineering
1+ years of engine design, development or manufacturing experience
2+ years experience in a supervisory role (preferred)
Six Sigma Black Belt (preferred)
Excellent problem-solving skills with understanding and practical application of problem-solving methodologies
Proficient in English (verbal and written)
