Develop, update, and track Aerodynamic Health Chart and Roadmap Actions to achieve program targets and perform vehicle level signoff of performance to targets
Utilize experimental and analytical methods to develop and predict aerodynamic performance of vehicles from concept to production verification
Conduct wind tunnel testing and oversee construction of physical models as needed
Build analytical models and perform CFD simulations to determine aerodynamic drag and lift and recommend improvements
Prepare data, reports and presentations to support program teams and wind tunnel teams and document lessons learned
Develop and implement new methodologies and tools and train/support the attribute implementation team
Work flexible hours for occasional nonstandard wind tunnel testing and occasional travel to support offsite wind tunnel testing
Requirements
Bachleors or Master’s degree or higher in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
5 yrs. experience in aerodynamic development (analytically or experimentally based)
A strong understanding of vehicle aerodynamics and computational fluid dynamics.
3+ years of experience in CFD usage and/or CFD code development (preferred)
Proficient in the use of analytical tools including ANSA, ModeFrontier, Powerflow, CCM+, openFOAM, Statistics (preferred)
Knowledge of wind tunnel experimental techniques (preferred)
Self-directed, confident and resilient individual with excellent personal communication skills
Excellent work planning, issue resolution skills
