About the role
- Serve as a PD engineer responsible for 10 speed RWD and RWD hybrid propulsion systems and the specific transmission components and assemblies
- Take ownership of the system & components and work hand in hand with specific component engineers
- Work with Ford analytical teams, component engineers, and suppliers to define component duty cycles
- Take ownership of the DV and PV strategies to deliver a best-in-class powertrain system
- Work as a team to improve part quality and increase the customer experience
- Lead teams through validation of components and sub-assemblies
- Lead structured root cause investigations and organize team collaboration
- Lead teams through vehicle level and transmission level milestones
- Define ES Specs for component and suppliers
- Complete design assessments including design rules, assembly stacks, print updates
- Must be in Livonia, Michigan 4 days a week or more depending on specific testing/hardware needs
- Must be approved to travel globally
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 2 years of automotive transmission or powertrain experience
- Must be approved to travel globally
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position; must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Hands-on problem solver and strong root cause skills (preferred)
- Independent, self-starter when required (preferred)
- Good communicator and can foster relationships with suppliers (preferred)
