About the role

  • Lead a group of engineers to design next-generation Ford products (gas, hybrid, and electric) focusing on suspension, steering, brakes, wheel/tires, and system integration.
  • Span work from early design concept and CAD to the beginning phases of industrialization, platform complexity and strategy, component design and systems engineering.
  • Deliver best-in-class cost, quality, and complexity targets.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with vehicle dynamics, manufacturing, purchasing, and other organizations.
  • Supervise engineering team activities and provide leadership on projects and people.
  • Work within Product Development to apply design thinking and user experience methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
  • 5+ years of automotive chassis systems experience.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred).
  • Knowledge of component design, systems design, and CAE modeling is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of competitive vehicles, vehicle attributes (driving dynamics, NVH) and manufacturing processes is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of the commodity sourcing and cost delivery processes is a priority.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills - projects and people.
  • Strong problem solving and strategy thinking capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work collaboratively across multiple organizations.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing work environment and global industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to delivery best-in-class cost, quality, and complexity.
