About the role
- A Route Sales Representative (RSR) is responsible for ordering, sales, and delivery of fresh baked products.
- The successful candidate must come to work with a neat, professional appearance (sometimes in a uniform) and be able to build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
- Drivers will check their delivery vehicle daily, keeping accurate records, quickly reporting maintenance issues, and filling out daily driver’s logs, time logs, and hours of service.
- This position will require flexibility to work varying workdays and early morning start times, generally around 3:00am with days off on Wednesday and Sunday.
- An RSR is also expected to increase sales by expanding shelf space, creatively displaying in-store promotions and displays, ensuring product shelf life is maximized by properly rotating the products.
- They will work together with the customers to increase sales and drive customer satisfaction. Adaptability and flexibility will be a must since RSRs will need to service their accounts during the customer’s designated service windows and may need to work non-traditional business hours to complete deliveries.
- An eagerness to gain knowledge and skills about the industry along with the ability to work independently and as a team will be the key to success for an RSR working in a DSD (Direct Store Delivery) environment.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Have had a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card.
- Must have a valid state driver’s license and documented safe driving record.
- Must meet Fleet Insurance Guidelines.
- Must adhere to federal, state, and local rules regarding the operation of a CMV.
- Must execute the best practices of RSR training (after 4-week company paid training).
- Must be able to push or pull up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required.
