About the role
- Drive regional/vertical growth by setting strategy and targets.
- Lead and coach BD Directors/Senior Directors, and own high-impact pursuits.
- Align client needs with site capabilities.
- Manage pipeline health and revenue forecasts.
- Guide deals from qualification through negotiation and close.
- Cultivate executive relationships with sponsors/CROs.
- Represent the company at industry forums.
- Develop BD talent for scalable revenue expansion.
- Manage and grow client relationships and strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, and Commercial Operations.
- Oversee sales pipeline reporting and revenue forecasting for assigned segment.
- Identify market trends and emerging opportunities for network expansion.
- Build and manage sales pipeline using CRM tools and reporting systems.
- Develop and execute account strategies with key sponsors, CROs, or therapeutic area partners.
- Track market trends and recommend channel-specific strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive business development experience in clinical research or life sciences.
- Proven leadership and team development experience.
- Consistent record of meeting/exceeding sales targets.
- Expertise with CRM systems, reporting, and data-driven decision making.
- Experience managing both net-new business and strategic accounts, including complex negotiations.
- Strong communication, presentation, and executive reporting skills.
- Exceptional sales performance and executive leadership/strategic planning.
- Major account development (new and existing relationships).
- Cross-functional collaboration and alignment with Operations.
- Market trend analysis; commercial forecasting and reporting.
- Team leadership and development; process improvement mindset.
- Strong problem-solving, risk assessment, and impact analysis.
- Flexible, able to multitask and prioritize competing demands; independent thinker with influence.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and Office 365 applications.
