About the role
- Oversee receiving, unpacking, and organizing new stock to ensure items are quickly and efficiently placed on the sales floor
- Manage setup and maintenance of displays for specific store sections, ensuring signage is accurate and promotions are highlighted per corporate guidelines
- Manage opening and closing of the store, including securing cash, locking doors, setting alarms, and ensuring smooth daily operation
- Act as Manager on Duty when needed, taking responsibility for store operations, staff management, customer service, and urgent issues
- Oversee daily activities of all store associates and ensure excellent customer service
- Support onboarding and ongoing training of associates on store policies, product knowledge, and operational procedures
- Drive store sales and control expenses by optimizing merchandising, staff performance, and customer service
- Execute the market plan by arranging products and signage according to corporate guidelines and ensuring promotional materials are updated
- Ensure the execution of company Inventory Integrity process
Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- College experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years of management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Creative thinking
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure
- Frequently operate cash register
- Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove merchandise up to 5-10 feet
- Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and put away stock
- Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop in stock room and on sales floor
- Frequently communicate with customers, managers, and coworkers in person and by telephone
- Ability to work a flexible schedule (day, evening, weekends; may include overnight shifts and travel)
- Must be able to identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and SOPs
- Must be able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time
