About the role

  • Guide and develop the Internal Communications function, with line management responsibility for three direct reports
  • Shape team identity and introduce best practice and new ways of working
  • Drive team development and upskilling to deliver high-impact internal communications
  • Champion innovative, insight-led, multi-channel communications and a campaign mindset
  • Provide strategic counsel and trusted guidance to senior leaders including the Chief Executive, Chair and Director of Communications
  • Support high-profile and sensitive communications projects, including crisis response, major announcements and organisational transformation
  • Act as part of the Comms Senior Management Team, deputising for the Head of Department and representing the team at ExCo, project boards and senior committees

Requirements

  • Developing and executing strategic internal communication plans and multi-channel campaigns
  • Translating complex business objectives into clear messaging across digital platforms
  • Supporting and developing high-performing teams and managing multiple projects concurrently
  • Experience working in regulated environments and driving talent acquisition aligned with technical capability requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing senior leadership under tight deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in intranet and digital channel optimisation and data-driven decision-making
  • Ability to interpret complex technical issues and translate them for internal audiences
  • Strong understanding of the political, regulatory and external landscape
  • Proven attention to detail and commitment to high professional standards
  • Familiarity with financial regulation or financial services environments
