About the role

Guide and develop the Internal Communications function, with line management responsibility for three direct reports
Shape team identity and introduce best practice and new ways of working
Drive team development and upskilling to deliver high-impact internal communications
Champion innovative, insight-led, multi-channel communications and a campaign mindset
Provide strategic counsel and trusted guidance to senior leaders including the Chief Executive, Chair and Director of Communications
Support high-profile and sensitive communications projects, including crisis response, major announcements and organisational transformation
Act as part of the Comms Senior Management Team, deputising for the Head of Department and representing the team at ExCo, project boards and senior committees

Developing and executing strategic internal communication plans and multi-channel campaigns
Translating complex business objectives into clear messaging across digital platforms
Supporting and developing high-performing teams and managing multiple projects concurrently
Experience working in regulated environments and driving talent acquisition aligned with technical capability requirements
Strong stakeholder management and influencing senior leadership under tight deadlines
Advanced proficiency in intranet and digital channel optimisation and data-driven decision-making
Ability to interpret complex technical issues and translate them for internal audiences
Strong understanding of the political, regulatory and external landscape
Proven attention to detail and commitment to high professional standards
Familiarity with financial regulation or financial services environments
