As the Senior External Communications Strategist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping, executing, and evolving Input Output Group’s global communications strategy.
Develop and execute integrated external communications strategies aligned with IOG’s brand, product, venture, and research narratives
Translate organizational priorities into proactive storytelling opportunities across events and owned platforms
Lead the creation of high-quality content, including blog posts, thought leadership articles, social media copy, paid content, videos, web copy, and beyond in support of broader communications strategies
Craft compelling, on-brand copy for a variety of platforms, including press releases, media statements, the company’s newsroom, blog posts, etc.
Support the creation and execution of global campaigns that enhance IO’s thought leadership and reputation
In close collaboration with the Social Media team, develop clear, engaging content for social media channels, tailoring messaging for platform-specific audiences
Identify key audiences we should be speaking to and define messaging for each audience
In partnership with External Communications Manager, develop a content and email marketing strategy to drive traffic to IOG’s website, increase newsletter sign-ups, and maintain engagement with existing audiences, while expanding into new audiences
Collaborate with External Communications Manager to craft specific content for executives, elevating their personal brand in support of positioning IOG as a strategic thought leader in emergent technologies
Partner with External Communications Manager and PR agencies to craft executive messaging, event remarks, and media commentary aligned to strategic goals
Help illustrate key representatives as thought leaders through speaking engagements, podcasts, webinars, and other high-visibility opportunities while identifying new opportunities for leaders to participate in
Collaborate with the social team to ensure executive content supports and amplifies corporate storytelling
In close collaboration with the External Communications Manager and PR agencies, support incident management, including holding statements, Q&As, etc.
Set and track metrics to assess effectiveness of IOG’s communications
Monitor and analyze web and email metrics to enhance traffic and participation in virtual platforms
Regularly report on results and make data-driven recommendations for improvement
Work with External Communications Manager to identify opportunities for growth across the team
Operate independently to maintain continuity in the manager’s absence (within pre-set guardrails)
Support in the planning and execution of key events by partnering with internal stakeholders to develop compelling communications materials (talking points, event content, presentations, press releases, briefing documents, etc.) to help maximize brand awareness
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and dependencies are clearly tracked and met
Anticipate issues or bottlenecks and propose proactive solutions to keep programs on track
Maintain strong editorial standards and attention to detail across all communications outputs
Requirements
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in communications, with at least 4 years of prior experience in the Web3 industry
- Expertise in brand positioning, narrative development, and strategic communications planning
- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling stories and thought leadership content
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related fields
- Familiarity working in a distributed team experience, while collaborating across verticals to produce exceptional results
- Understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.) and how each platform can be leveraged to deliver against company goals
- Demonstrated success in planning and implementing communication strategies
- Possess an entrepreneurial attitude and a genuine passion for the Web3 space
- An understanding of communication trends in the technology or venture capital sector
