About the role
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide guidance on HR policies and programs
- Complete administrative tasks such as preparing job change letters, employment letters and completing employment verification requests
- Support employee relations matters as needed in partnership with senior HR team members
- Process and track remote work requests and other HR-related employee requests
- Administer and maintain time-off programs, ensuring accurate tracking and employee support
- Support key employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, offboarding, and internal employee changes
- Own bi-weekly Canadian payroll processing to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time and act as back up for US payroll
- Coordinate benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries
- Execute compensation increases and HRIS updates to maintain accurate employee records
- Coordinate annual compliance training and track completion across the organization
- Assist with organizing Lunch & Learns and employee education sessions
- Represent the People Success team on the DEIB committee and support related initiatives
- Participate in Financeit’s Health & Safety program and assist the H&S Chair with compliance
- Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS
- Support HR reporting and data tracking to help inform people-related decisions
- Assist with preparing HR metrics and internal reporting for leadership
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in an HR, People Operations, or HR Coordinator/Generalist role
- Hands-on experience supporting HR operations such as payroll coordination, benefits administration, HRIS updates, or employee lifecycle processes
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfort working with HR systems and data reporting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative mindset and a strong sense of discretion when handling sensitive information
- Experience coordinating payroll or benefits administration nice to have
- Exposure to HR compliance programs or employee engagement initiatives an asset
