About the role
- Administer all OSHA, DOT, Fleet Management programs, 49CFR and FDA regulations.
- Maintain records and perform heavy data entry into various systems.
- Create, implement and administer safety training programs.
- Conduct accident investigations and manage claim filing processes.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory changes and provide support to all locations.
- Manage corporate safety programs and DOT/FDA/OSHA recordkeeping and audits.
- Monitor and record DOT recordable accidents and other fleet safety incidents; prepare summary reports.
- Maintain OSHA 300 logs, DOT/Safety metric reports, and document control (data entry and scanning).
- Report and monitor vehicle and property insurance claims for drivers.
- Manage hiring process for drivers, including 30-day safety history requests and DOT hiring document review.
- Manage DOT and Random drug and alcohol testing program; track log books and maintain DOT driver qualification files.
- Monitor Hours of Service regulations; maintain fleet vehicle files and maintenance records.
- Coordinate licensing/permits and compliance of fleet operation; assist with FDA regulations.
- Backup duties: maintaining security systems and supporting the Corporate Compliance and Safety Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- 2-4 years’ related experience in Safety, DOT/OSHA compliance.
- DOT knowledge and/or experience required.
- 49CFR training a plus.
- 30-hour OSHA Training Course a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of DOT/OSHA compliance regulations.
- FDA knowledge a plus.
- Works independently.
- Skill in handling multiple priorities and meeting critical deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and Word.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a cross-functional team capacity.
- Strong verbal/written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
