About the role
- Develop and execute a multi-year facilities strategy aligned with company growth objectives, operational needs, and aerospace industry requirements.
- Partner with architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders to design aerospace engineering and manufacturing spaces.
- Oversee new construction, facility modifications, and major renovations from concept to completion.
- Implement predictive and preventive maintenance programs for critical systems; manage utilities infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, AS9100, ISO 14001; lead inspections and emergency response planning.
- Conduct space utilization analysis and continuous improvement initiatives; lead sustainability initiatives.
- Negotiate and manage vendor agreements; establish performance metrics and vendor oversight.
- Lead and mentor a facilities team; promote cross-functional teamwork with manufacturing, engineering, and leadership.
- Onsite presence required at all Los Angeles-based facilities; occasional travel to other Hermeus locations may be necessary.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive facilities management experience in aerospace, defense, or similar industry.
- Proven track record managing capital projects, complex facilities operations, and multidisciplinary teams.
- In-depth knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and aerospace manufacturing infrastructure requirements.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, environmental standards, and industry-specific certifications.
- Skilled in project management software, CAD tools, and modern facility management systems.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to operate in a high-urgency, high-precision environment.
- Experience with aircraft test facilities and aerospace manufacturing equipment a plus.
- U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or eligible for deemed export licensing (citizen, national, green card, asylee, refugee).
