About the role

  • Serve as the Project Director for Novartis US Foundation's Beacon of Hope Coordinating Center overseeing all operational functions including management/staffing, subawards, deliverables, timeline, budget, and compliance with FHI 360 policies and procedures.
  • Set goals and budgets for the project, establish work plans and SOPs, and lead the team in achieving strategic goals.
  • Ensure project deliverables are successfully completed on time, with quality and within budget and maintain a strong and sustainable relationship with the funding organizations.
  • Provide technical management, oversight, and subject matter expertise; offer coaching and guidance to university leadership and faculty at HBCUs.
  • Manage a team in a matrixed environment to meet project and organizational goals and support performance management and professional development of direct reports.
  • Lead business development and the overall design and development of workforce development and higher education technical proposals.
  • Foster innovation, support continuous learning, drive adoption of leading practices, and establish and maintain positive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Master's degree preferred in public administration, Economic Development, Education, Higher Education, Public Health, Public Affairs / Policy Studies, Research, Technology, or Related Fields.
  • Project Management (PM) Certification preferred.
  • Typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience with projects management principles and practices (including 5+ years of line management experience).
  • Experience working in a non-governmental organization (NGO) and with Historically Black Colleges & Universities required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience working with corporate initiatives and in a STEM field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex projects that are strategic in nature and national in scope.
  • Competent with personal computer/laptop, Microsoft applications (Office 365, SharePoint, Skype/Zoom/Teams), cell phone/mobile technology, and standard office equipment.
  • Able to travel (projected at 10% - 15%) within the United States.
