About the role
- Support development and execution of the category strategy aligned to financial and brand goals.
- Assist in building balanced assortments grounded in data, trend awareness, and fan insights.
- Manage product setup, SKU rationalization, and lifecycle execution from buy through markdown.
- Partner with Planning to monitor inventory flow, sales trends, and OTB performance.
- Support communication and follow-up with vendor partners on buys, production timelines, and deliverables.
- Assist in seasonal assortment reviews and go-to-market preparation.
- Help maintain vendor matrices and ensure product data accuracy across systems.
- Track weekly sales, margin, and inventory performance.
- Prepare reporting and provide insights to support pricing and promotional decisions.
- Identify risks and opportunities in-season and escalate with recommended actions.
- Support markdown execution and inventory health initiatives.
- Partner closely with Planning, Site Merchandising, Marketing, and Supply Chain to ensure flawless execution.
- Support onboarding of Assistant Buyers or Coordinators as applicable.
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration and shared accountability
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in Merchandising, Buying, or retail analytics.
- Strong analytical capability with comfort working in Excel and reporting tools.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Passion for product, sports, and fan engagement.
- Growth mindset with desire to develop into a full category owner.
