About the role
- Real-Time Analysis: Monitor intra-day sales and margin performance, identifying specific drivers for performance upsides or downsides relative to forecasts (e.g., fast-sellers or bulk orders).
- Active Communication: Maintain a constant stream of communication, sharing daily commentary and insights for key business segments, focusing on major variances against forecasts. Focussing on “what happened” and “what are we going to do about it”.
- Market Awareness: Identify and report on key tailwinds, headwinds, product launch performance, and top-selling items across relevant sites.
- Reporting & Strategy: Refresh Weekly Business Review (WBR) reporting every Monday, investigating areas of concern such as margin drags, negative shipping margins, or high spend levels.
- Collaborative Meetings: Lead the sharing of performance insights during individual trade meetings with eCommerce and Merchandising teams.
- Action Tracking: Provide concise summaries of key points and actions following all trade meetings.
- Collaborative Sales & Margin Forecasting: Partner with eCommerce and Merchandise leads to develop and phase daily demand forecasts. Incorporate "key moments"—including promotional activity, product launches, and sporting events—to ensure high-accuracy phasing curves and robust Net Demand (ND) targets.
- Hourly Phasing Curves: Maintain and upload hourly phasing curves for BAU (Business as Usual), Hot Markets, and high-profile product launches to ensure high intra-day accuracy vs financial forecasts.
- Operational Demand Planning: Translate financial sales forecasts into daily operational unit forecasts. Collaborate with Operations teams to align resource planning with expected volumes, factoring in AUR and Personalisation Mix to ensure operational readiness.
- Opportunity Identification: Identify growth areas across trade promotions, shipping rates, search term redirects, and customer behaviours.
- A/B Testing: Partner with the A/B Lead to optimise the customer journey based on identified opportunities.
Requirements
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to turn complex data into actionable insights ("Analysis, Insight, Action").
- Commercial Acumen: Understanding of margins, sell-through, and promotional impacts on the bottom line.
- Collaboration: Strong communication skills to work effectively across eCommerce, Merchandising, and CRM teams.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with web analytical tools and KPI reporting.
