Medical Assistant

• Attends in-services or completes make-up assignments
• Keeps sites in compliance with TJC, DHS, CHDP, and Medi-Cal Managed Care Requirements

• Consistently follows FHCSD Policies and Procedures to ensure positive patient outcomes
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe clinic environment
• Prepares patients for examinations and procedures and assists providers as needed
• Assists with managing clinic flow, scheduling patient follow-up appointments, communicating referral information, and discharge instructions
• Records patient information in Electronic Health Record (EHR)
• May be responsible for administering medications, including injections
• Collects and handles laboratory specimens appropriately
• Follows 5S and continuous quality improvement methods in the workplace

Therapist

• Communicates with patients and/or parents/caregivers regarding evaluation results, treatment plan and goals
• Provides home program activities to patients and/or parents/caregivers
• Engages patients and/or parents/caregivers in treatment sessions
• Completes all required documentation accurately, in a timely manner
• Consults with Physicians, allied health professionals, and other team members
• Participates in case conferencing meeting and in program planning meetings
• Provides appropriate oversight and supervision of Physical Therapy Assistants as necessary
• Provides treatment to assigned patients as appropriate in accordance with established standards of care and practice

Physical Therapist – Per Diem

Patient Service Representative

• Effectively manage the patient check-in and check-out process
• Collect specified co-pays and payments from patients
• Screen for eligibility and financial assistance
• Ensure patient information is placed into the Electronic Health Record accurately
• Contact patients to schedule appointments and make reminder/recall notifications

Technician

• Assist Physician in the treatment of injuries to bones and surrounding ligaments and tendons.
• Assist with orthopedic casting procedures to include the application and removal of a variety of casts and splints.
• Assist with routine examination and treatment procedures to include removing casts, cleaning wounds and applying dressings.
• Apply and remove all types of extremity casts and braces using plaster, synthetic materials and thermoplastics.
• Assist Physician in application of special casts, i.e., extremity casts, spicas, etc.
• Adjust and repair casts, braces, and splints.
• Use equipment needed for application, adjustment and repair of casts and braces, alignment jigs, hinge apparatus, etc.
• Apply all types of prefabricated soft goods, i.e., slings, braces, collars and immobilizers.
• Fit and adjust canes, crutches, and walkers, and give patient and/or significant other(s) instruction in the use of these aids.
• Set-up and maintain a sterile field for minor orthopedic procedures such as intra-articular injections, aspirations, and subcutaneous hardware removal.
• Keep cast room, storage area and procedure areas clean and orderly.
• Provide administrative support such as prepping clinics, maintaining patient records/charts, ensuring specialty equipment (i.e., cast saw), and supplies are available.
• Document/perform patient charting using appropriate documentation template, standard medical terminology, physical and emotional reactions, and general patient care.
• Enter information related to care rendered, and condition and progress of the patient.
• Review and compare clinic schedule with availability of bone films to ensure patient and films are available for clinic appointment.
• Document patient care data, and patient’s response to care in computerized patient record (E-HR).

Orthopedic Cast Technician – Sports Medicine

General

• Addresses routine messages in EHR within 2 days, urgent messages within 1 day.
• Attends Nursing in-services or completes make-up assignments within 2 weeks of assignment.
• Builds positive relationships, inspires others to perform at a higher level, prepares career development plans and retains an accountable workforce.
• Coaches and counsels staff and administers appropriate disciplinary action in a timely manner.
• Communicates effectively with interdisciplinary care team and support services, including Physicians, PSRs, Medical Assistants, and others.
• Attends department meetings.
• Completes all required documentation accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards; in addition, documentation complies with patients' insurance requirements. Includes documenting patient history.
• Consistently follows Policies and Procedures to ensure positive patient outcomes.
• Ensures MAs document patient Vital Signs and pre-assessment questions.
• Keeps clinic work-flow moving, focusing on productivity and efficiency, including assigning lunch times and breaks, ensuring exam room is set up, ordering supplies and vaccines to ensure correct supply is on hand, supporting provider productivity, reviewing patient problem list prior to visit with provider, and calling in refills to pharmacy.
• Keeps site in compliance with TJC, DHS, CHDP, and Medi-Cal Managed Care requirements.
• Performs nursing tasks, demonstrating Clinical Competency, including: Measures height, weight, and vital signs accurately; Performs hearing and vision screenings appropriately; Administers IM medications or immunizations correctly; Administers PO medications or immunizations correctly; Administers subcutaneous immunizations correctly; Administers medications via inhalation correctly; Administers PPD tests correctly; Reads PPD results correctly; Performs EKGs correctly; Assesses immunization records accurately; Performs ear lavage correctly; Sets up sterile field correctly; Performs equipment disinfection and sterilization correctly; Hooks up Oxygen tubing correctly; Suctions patients correctly using appropriate suction equipment; Performs straight cath correctly; Starts IVs correctly.
• Completes standing orders as directed by provider.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Performs Waive Testing and Phlebotomy if appropriate training has been completed.
• Provides/ensures staff receive all new hire and annual trainings on time.

• Under the direction of the Clinic Director, provide support in the day-to-day administration and coordination of the clinic
• Act as covering Director on site and off, in absence of Clinic Director
• Ensure that clinic is opened and closed on time daily
• Ensure that all regulatory standards are met or exceeded
• Support Clinic Director in developing and maintaining community linkages and key community relationships
• Ensure staff complete all required training in a timely manner
• Manage site in a fiscally responsible manner
