About the role
- Architect and design purchasing APIs to handle high traffic spikes.
- Partner with product and design to build backend systems for multi-step purchasing journeys.
- Decouple core purchasing logic for rapid market/product launches.
- Mentor and elevate the engineering team through code reviews and architectural guidance.
- Design and implement event-driven workflows for complex, long-running processes.
Requirements
- 10+ year history of building and maintaining critical backend systems where reliability and performance are non-negotiable.
- Comfortable discussing API design and database choices.
- Experience designing resilient, high-throughput systems.
- Experience with TypeScript, React, and various AWS services.
- Ability to design event-driven workflows and long-running processes.
- Experience with system architecture, code reviews, mentorship, and architectural guidance.
