Part of the Transportation electrical team of the Building sector
Participate in project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor
Develop and prepare detailed designs for transportation electrical systems using AutoCAD and/or Microstation
Conduct detailed calculations such as voltage drop, photometrics, conductor and conduit sizing, and grounding to ensure designs meet relevant engineering standards and applicable codes
Perform complete lighting analysis using AGi32
Develop traffic signal design and layouts
Design electrical layouts for cable raceways/underground conduits, lighting, panel schedules, lighting poles and base details, luminaire schedule, electrical grounding
Prepare contract documents, including specifications and cost estimates
Perform site visits and contract administration
Requirements
An Engineering degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited University
Minimum of (2) years continuous experience in detailed design and design consultancy
Knowledge of IES-RP-8 and Roadway lighting and Parking lot lighting
Previous experience in Transportation and Transit projects (required)
Experience with advanced lighting design tools (AGi32 and Autolux)
Knowledge of various municipal and MTO lighting and traffic signal design standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation and SPIDACalc
Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards (OESC, CSA, OBC, NFPA, AREMA and IEEE)
