About the role Set overall strategic direction and priorities for the assigned indirect category Identify national contract opportunities and address indirect spend with regional, national or global synergies Coordinate with global counterparts where necessary Audit documentation of competitive bid process to ensure consistency and compliance to Procurement Management Manual Manage KPIs defined by Procurement Management Manage key supplier relationships including contract/price negotiations for indirect categories Negotiate optimization/extension of existing contracts and catalogs and generate new contracts/catalogs (dollar ranges up to $50 MM/year) Negotiate purchases assuring quality, safety, time and cost effectiveness Minimize Evonik liability regarding quality management, licensing, insurance, taxes, and supplier financial stability Evaluate supplier/contractor performance and manage approved bidders/suppliers list Manage and maintain electronic catalogs for e-Procurement programs (Ariba, RIsource); provide training and troubleshooting Identify and document savings potential, especially regarding sustainability and EBIT relevance Identify and communicate regional market trends for assigned categories Lead transformational change and projects and support compliance standards and vendor prequalification Support corporate procurement initiatives (sustainability, supplier diversity, payment terms, systems integrations, acquisitions/divestitures) Requirements Bachelor’s degree in a technical area such as engineering/chemistry 0-2+ years' experience in indirect procurement or a related field Master’s degree in Business (MBA) preferred Knowledge of business law, accounting principles, state tax laws Knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations Knowledge of state licensing regulations Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems Outstanding negotiation abilities Hands on experience with sourcing software strongly preferred (e.g., Ariba, RIsource) Sense of ownership and pride in your performance Strong desire & determination to achieve goals Ability to parse through large datasets to find opportunities for savings performance-based remuneration and occupational health benefits hybrid and flexible working environments with #SmartWork Medical, dental, and vision benefits Paid time off plan 401(k) savings plans Health Savings Account (HSA) Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) Employee Assistance Program Voluntary Benefits and Employee Discounts Disability benefits Life Insurance Parental leave Tuition Reimbursement Copy Applicant Tracking System Keywords Tip: use these terms in your resume and cover letter to boost ATS matches.
