About the role
- **What You’ll Do**
- **International Expansion & Commercial Support**
- - Advise international leadership, sales, and channel teams on privacy and contract related matters, including deal flow, contractual obligations, go-to-market strategies, sales enablement, channel relationships, and international expansion across EMEA and other international markets.
- - Draft and negotiate a wide range of B2B commercial agreements, including enterprise SaaS agreements, hardware purchase and lease agreements, key channel partner and distributor agreements, and software licensing agreements.
- - Partner with Sales, Finance, Product, and Supply Chain to structure deals and processes that support scalable international growth.
- - Help assess product risk profiles for international markets and provide strategic input on international product launches, certifications, and market-entry considerations.**
- **Privacy, Data Protection, & AI Governance **
- - Draft, negotiate, and update data protection agreements (DPAs), privacy schedules, cross-border transfer terms, and other customer/vendor provisions.
- - Leverage your privacy expertise to support Evolv’s data privacy program including GDPR/UK GDPR compliance and readiness for emerging frameworks, such as the EU AI Act. **
- **Cross-Functional Leadership**
- - Partner closely with U.S. legal and compliance colleagues to ensure alignment on contracting standards, legal positions, and risk management across the global business.
- - Engage and manage Evolv’s EMEA-based outside counsel panel to ensure strong partnerships and efficient use of resources.**
Requirements
- **Qualifications and Preferred Experience**
- - Qualified solicitor or barrister in the UK or an attorney/licensed lawyer in Portugal or another comparable jurisdiction.
- - As a guide we are seeking 8+ years of PQE, including in-house experience at a technology, SaaS, security, or AI-driven company.
- - Strong international commercial contracting experience, ideally with channel partners, distributors, and enterprise customers.
- - Demonstrated expertise in global data protection and privacy frameworks such as GDPR and familiarity with emerging AI regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU AI Act).
- - Ability to simplify complex legal concepts and operate as a business-forward, solutions-oriented partner.
- - Exposure to regulatory areas such as anti-corruption, competition law, and export/import controls is valued.
- - Superior command of written and spoken English. Additional languages a plus.
