Work on a variety of metering installations including nonstandard, complex industrial and commercial, municipal, special contract, cogeneration, mandated load study and research metering installations
Establish projects, design installations, specify equipment and evaluate bids
Order equipment, schedule delivery, establish requirements, coordinate and oversee installation
Instruct and train staff and/or area metering personnel in test and installation of equipment
Plan, develop, and participate in implementation of standardized and specialized policies, procedures, programs, specifications, methods, testing and requirements for electric metering on the Eversource System
Provide engineering and technical expertise to field forces and other departments
Explain concepts of new metering equipment to customers, management, engineering, computer, and technical personnel
Review distributed generation projects to ensure metering meets Eversource standards and requirements
Create processes or procedures related to meter reviews and work orders
Oversee and participate in the test and evaluation of new meters and equipment and provide recommendations
Develop standardized test procedures and schedules for electric meters, associated metering devices, instrument transformers and test equipment
Design and develop for approval standard metering-installation methods and procedures
Provide assistance, guidance and instruction in analysis and resolution of incorrect metering of an unusual nature
Provide engineering and technical counsel on installation, operation and costs associated with meters and related equipment
Participate in development of metering requirements and procedures and design of metering systems for interconnecting companies, railroads, municipals, and sale for resale customers
Provide work direction to lower-level technical personnel
Requirements
Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related work experience is required
Master’s degree preferred
Three (3) plus years related experience is required
Experience within the utility sector is preferred
Knowledge of power systems, communications (Modbus, DNP3, TCP/IP, etc.) and basic electricity
Ability to analyze data and information pertaining to electric metering and make decisions accordingly
Thorough knowledge and understanding of state and national electric codes
Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of the organization and with counterparts in outside organizations
Must be able to work at least three days in the office (including Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and up to five days if needed
Willingness to respond to emergencies as part of an Emergency Restoration assignment
