About the role
- Development and implementation of IT Software Governance Program.
- Provide direct support for new and existing software implementations ensuring compliance with Eversource’s General IT Controls and Security Protocols.
- Perform annual risk assessments, identify suggested changes, and perform operating effectiveness testing.
- Oversight of local administrator access, application whitelisting/blacklisting, and implementation of secure software lifecycle workflows.
- Oversee policy, standards, and guidelines for Software Governance.
- Conduct process design, analysis, documentation, implementation and testing activities.
- Analyze communication and recommend troubleshooting/training for business process continuity.
- Participate in testing and evaluation of new software processes.
- Perform first level troubleshooting, analysis and monitoring of automated work processes for compliance to key security controls and practices.
- Effectively communicate issues and/or concerns to stakeholders and audit management.
- Monitor implementation and completion of remediation efforts.
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments and travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
Requirements
- Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment; Eversource will not sponsor candidates for work visas for this position.
- Four-year college degree from an accredited institution; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT, or related field with focus on information systems or related experience.
- Minimum of five years related experience with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
- Strong knowledge of IT: Operations, information security and change management of systems software, application source code, network, and system database technologies.
- Hold strong knowledge of Software Governance to perform annual risk assessment, identify suggested changes, and perform operating effectiveness testing.
- Familiarity with NIST standards.
- Full understanding of applicable state and federal legislation and industry specific regulations.
- Risk assessment ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; good report writing skills.
- Knowledge of IT security and infrastructure.
- Knowledge of operating system platforms.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Software Governance Licenses & Certifications: None.
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
- Must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed.
