About the role
- Provides timely completion of service requests for computer system file definition and ensures all associated definitions are complete.
- Documents all tasks according to established procedures and maintains accurate documentation of procedures, updating as processes change.
- Works with department managers and/or directors in establishing new programs utilizing the laboratory’s information systems.
- Installs, tests, and implements enhancements and/or upgrades to relevant information systems; maintains appropriate documentation of testing per accrediting agencies' requirements and internal procedures.
- Maintains functional knowledge of systems and systems interfaced to relevant information systems to understand impact of changes on functionality.
- Provides troubleshooting support: researches, analyzes, and resolves situations in a timely fashion; communicates and/or coordinates resolutions per internal policies and procedures.
- Performs daily system tasks to ensure system integrity and participates in project planning including development of project plans, task scheduling, work assignments, and progress reporting.
- Effectively deals with multiple and changing priorities, performs other duties as deemed appropriate, and provides on-call support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables; ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
