About the role
- Identify prospective clients by following up on company leads, reviewing existing client history, monitoring tender/RFP sites, industry news, and the sector contact history.
- Visit clients to maintain and strengthen relationships and to identify their specific needs and potential solutions.
- Collaborate with internal sales staff and technical support teams to ensure timely and accurate quotation submissions.
- Develop business plans and reports to manage and report on sales activities and progress.
- Ensure CRM tools are kept up to date and reviewed.
- Participate in related training or certification programs.
- Review supplier information on new or updated products.
- Stay current with NFPA, ULC, and other local and national codes and standards.
- Keep up to date with industry news and key developments.
- Attend industry trade shows and events to promote our products, services, and solutions.
- Ensure safe work practices are followed and demonstrate safety leadership in all aspects of the job.
- Support other team members, including administrative, operational, and field staff, in delivering safe, effective, high-quality service to our customers.
Requirements
- Experience in the fire protection and life safety services sector, ideally complemented by a technical diploma in fire protection, safety, or a related field.
- Relevant experience selling technical products or in sales (or business development) of product/service-based solutions.
- Knowledge of NFPA, ULC, and other local and national codes and standards.
- Proficiency with computerized ERP and CRM systems is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Fluency in French and English is an asset.
