About the role

  • Identify and prospect potential customers using the company's lead tracking, existing client history, tender websites, industry news, and contact history in the sector.
  • Visit customers to maintain and strengthen relationships, identify their specific needs and potential solutions.
  • Work closely with internal sales staff and technical support teams to ensure timely and accurate quote submissions.
  • Develop business plans and reports to manage and track commercial activities and progress.
  • Ensure customer relationship management (CRM) tools are kept up to date and reviewed.
  • Participate in relevant training and certification.
  • Review vendor information on new or updated products.
  • Stay current with NFPA, ULC and other local and national codes and standards.
  • Keep up to date with industry news and key developments.
  • Attend industry trade shows and events to promote our products, services and solutions.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed and demonstrate safety leadership in all aspects of your work.
  • Support other team members, including administrative, operational, and field staff, to safely and effectively deliver high-quality service to our customers.

Requirements

  • Experience in the fire protection and life safety services sector, complemented by a technical diploma in fire protection, security, or a related field, is an asset.
  • Relevant experience in technical product sales, or in sales/business development of product- or service-based solutions.
  • Knowledge of NFPA, ULC and other local and national codes and standards is an asset.
  • Proficiency with computerized ERP and CRM systems is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license.
