About the role

  • - Identify and onboard new land opportunities to establish Habitat Banks, liaising with landowners and agents.
  • - Prioritise the creation of Habitat Banks based on Local Authority BNG (Biodiversity Net Gain) credit demand and known purchaser demand, with input from the sales team.
  • - Conduct thorough due diligence to assess site suitability for Habitat Bank creation, coordinating with internal teams including ecology, project delivery, legal, and finance.
  • - Take sites through an internal offer approval process, justifying and championing why it should proceed. Gather and analyse data to support targeted Habitat Bank creation, including reviewing local plan policies, agri-environment scheme information, and market sector reports.
  • - Work as part of a collaborative project team to create the Habitat and deliver capital works and then support the ongoing management of the site, liaising with landowners regularly.

Requirements

  • **What we need from you:**
  • - Experience of working directly with farmers and landowners, in a professional capacity.
  • - Experience in rural land management an advantage, but not essential.
  • - Preferably possess a working knowledge of Farm Business Tenancies and relevant environmental matters related to rural land management.
  • - Some understanding of utilising Land Registry and other publicly available legal and land management data sources.
  • - Project management experience would be beneficial, especially in the environmental sector.
  • - MRICS or CAAV would be useful, but not essential.
  • - Full UK clean driving license and willingness to travel for regional site visits and events.
