About the role
- Lead and oversee the company’s litigation and pre-litigation portfolio, including demand letters, subpoenas, and regulatory inquiries
- Set litigation strategy, supervise outside counsel performance, and manage litigation budgets
- Advise executive leadership on exposure, risk mitigation, settlement strategy, and business impact
- Oversee internal investigations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings as needed
- Serve as senior legal advisor on a full range of employment matters
- Partner closely with HR leadership to proactively identify and mitigate employment-related risk
- Support development and implementation of employment policies and training
- Support board and committee governance processes
- Oversee subsidiary management, entity compliance, and assist with regulatory filings
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex commercial agreements
- Advise business leaders on contract risk allocation and negotiation strategy
- Provide cross-functional legal counsel to minimize enterprise risk and enable business growth
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 6-10 years of legal experience, including exposure to litigation and employment counseling
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and supervise outside counsel effectively
- Strong business judgment and ability to provide clear, risk-based advice to senior leaders
- Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
