About the role
- Responsible for planning, developing, organizing, and managing the Patient Access department
- Responsible for performance and effectiveness of departments
- Coaching and development of all staff performing functions
- Implementing short and long-term plans and objectives to improve customer service
- Provide leadership and contribute to the revenue cycle and organizational goals
- Work closely with the Director of Patient Access to align processes and procedures
- Manage operations for the admitting, registration, and financial services departments
- Assigning accurate MRNs, completing medical necessity/compliance checks, providing proper patient instructions
- Managing Financial Service Representatives and ensuring proper accounting processes are followed
- Develop and manage departmental staffing needs
- Prepare monthly reports as requested
- Establish departmental goals with the staff to optimize performance and meet organizational and financial goals
- Collect, interpret and communicate performance data using various tools and systems
- Collaborate with internal and external customers.
Requirements
- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification
- Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) certification
- Minimum 2 – 3 year’s management experience in healthcare industry
- Patient Access experience with managed care/insurance or call center preferred
- Experience with Microsoft a must
- Ability to balance numerous priorities, therefore requiring great skills in prioritization
- Ability to understand and master numerous computer applications
- Demonstrated advanced usage of AI and the management of teams using AI to lean in to process and technological improvements.
