About the role
- Serve as a friendly, approachable first point of contact for employees and managers across the organization.
- Support core HR functions, including onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance.
- Partner closely with fellow HR Generalists, HRBPs, and the Talent Management team to support a growing healthcare workforce.
- Help manage and maintain employee data in our HRIS (ADP) and support recruiting operations in our ATS (Greenhouse).
- Assist with policy development, documentation, and employee communications; clear writing matters here.
- Balance being proactive and outgoing with knowing when to escalate, collaborate, or follow established processes. It’s okay to ask questions; we encourage it; but we also value teammates who are confident in making decisions.
- Juggle multiple priorities with confidence while adapting to changing business needs.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism. HR is a vault, and we expect our teammates to be one as well.
- Pitch in when needed; this is a growing company, and sometimes that means rolling with the punches or working extra hours during peak periods. Our team shows up for one another, and we’re looking for someone who will too.
Requirements
- 1–2+ years of HR Generalist (or similar) experience.
- Experience in a healthcare organization is a plus! But, we don’t need a unicorn; we can train the right person.
- Solid foundation in core HR principles and best practices.
- Outgoing, personable, and proactive. Comfortable taking initiative while staying aligned with policies and knowing when to loop in leadership (no surprises).
- Strong understanding of how to work within a team structure, follow a chain of command, and keep the right people informed.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills; comfortable managing competing priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of personality types and across all levels of the organization.
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive, flexible, “we’ve got this” attitude.
- Willingness to work East Coast hours; East Coast location strongly preferred.
- Experience with ADP (HRIS) and Greenhouse (ATS) is a plus, but not required.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification preferred but not required. We are happy to support you in obtaining certification in the future if you choose.
- Bachelor’s degree required unless equivalent, substantial HR experience can be demonstrated.
