Permanent night-shift Lifting Engineer reporting to the Lifting Site Manager at EnerMech supporting the UK's Low Carbon Nuclear project (HPC)
Lift planning assurance and process oversight of lifting operations at HPC
Support and develop lifting superintendents and delegate duties to ensure briefed lifting operations
Recording of lifting inspections and follow up of any non-conformances
Assist in contractor audits to ensure compliance and compliance auditing of subcontractors' lifting procedures
Planning, review and/or approval of internal and external SSOWs (Lifting Operations Lift Plans)
Assess safe systems of work by reviewing lift plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments
Plan, manage, monitor and coordinate lifting operations during the construction phase and execute lift plan requirements where required
Chair / attend planning and progress meetings with key stakeholders and maintain detailed site logs and records
Support and assist site lifting contractors with the development and implementation of safe systems of works
Requirements
CPCS Appointed Persons A61 Appointed Person (Blue Card) OR ECITB Appointed Person - Appointed Person Moving Loads (Certificate of Training) and TAP01 Planning a Rigging Operation (Certificate of Achievement)
Experience of working with MS Office
Knowledge of AutoCAD
Ability to read and interpret General Arrangement drawings of plant and equipment
Significant experience of working on major construction sites
Experienced in all types of Heavy Lift and General Lifting Operations
Demonstrable experience in a supervisory role in the safe execution of lifting and handling operations
Effective working knowledge and experience of Logistics & Transport management
Significant experience of establishing, creating and implementing Safe Systems of Work for lifting operations
Good working knowledge and understanding of UK regulations (LOLER, PUWER, HSWA) and BSEN technical standards associated with lifting, hoisting operations and lifting equipment
Strong leadership skills
Strong communicator, both written and verbally
Strong and effective coordinator who is organised, disciplined, able to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities and parallel tasks
