About the role
- Lead daily maintenance activities and drive continuous improvement at Biffa's Redcar site
- Support the Head of Engineering and site operations by ensuring resources and equipment are in place
- Develop and manage KPIs for the maintenance team
- Coach, motivate and lead the maintenance team to meet KPIs and customer expectations
- Oversee site infrastructure inspections (fixed wiring, pressure vessels, LOLER) to ensure legal compliance
- Deliver improvement projects focused on waste reduction and process efficiency
- Set and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring timely delivery of work
- Support equipment installation and commissioning with accurate documentation
- Manage contractors for major projects, ensuring safety and project standards
- Improve machinery and facilities reliability through data analysis and proactive changes
- Perform other reasonable tasks as required by the business
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Requirements
- Graduate qualification with relevant experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and principles
- Experience managing process and lean improvement projects
- Proven track record of achieving defined KPIs
- Strong leadership in delivering large-scale projects and asset performance improvement
