About the role
- As a Product Owner, you’ll be working with our Product Team and will be instrumental in shaping the foundations and shared capabilities of our All-in-One Platform (AIOP), ensuring our Employment Operating System scales seamlessly across all global markets.
- Scaling Platform Excellence: Delivering shared capabilities (Identity, Permissions, Data Models) that enable internal teams to build and ship features 2x faster.
- Product Reliability: Ensuring 99.9% uptime and high-performance standards for all platform-level microservices.
- Seamless Integration: Streamlining the "All-in-One" experience so customers move between HR, Payroll, and Benefits with zero friction.
- Data-Driven Innovation: Leveraging AI and user research to prioritize the platform roadmap based on measurable impact.
- Owning delivery for your platform squad, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and cross-functional coordination.
- Defining clear scope, epics, and user stories for new platform capabilities and technical enhancements.
- Partnering with engineering to shape pragmatic, scalable solutions across our Ruby on Rails and React/Angular stack.
- Driving platform quality by ensuring initiatives include robust observability, monitoring, and security considerations.
- Collaborating with multiple "spoke" product teams to unblock delivery and ensure platform work accelerates their outcomes.
- Leading discovery for platform opportunities, including technical spikes, problem framing, and outcome definition.
Requirements
- 3–7 years of experience as a Product Owner in SaaS, specifically within platform, shared services, or infrastructure-adjacent areas
- Technical Literacy: Comfort validating RESTful APIs and a solid understanding of microservices, PostgreSQL, and CI/CD
- Stakeholder Mastery: Proven ability to align diverse cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
- Analytical Rigor: A high bar for quality in PRDs and the ability to make prioritization decisions grounded in data and evidence
- Execution Focus: A track record of simplifying complex technical problems into actionable delivery phases
- Academic Foundation: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent practical experience
- Nice to have: Hands-on experience with Canadian benefits products and/or benefit platform integrations
