About the role
- Manage Production Inventory Control (PIC) functions: plan, coordinate, control, and direct scheduling and release of production orders
- Requisition purchased parts and maintain accurate inventory control records and system procedures
- Analyze and recommend solutions to improve availability of component parts to ensure adherence to production schedules
- Oversee the release, control, and follow-up of shop floor work orders from creation to shipment; coordinate expediting of component parts
- Investigate and resolve component part availability issues and recommend long-term solutions within a domestic and international supply chain
- Analyze capacity, production, and inventory reports to ensure constant flow of work orders
- Oversee inventory levels of purchased parts and raw materials in conjunction with corporate commodity management and purchasing
- Coordinate inter-company component transfers and manufacturing orders
- Communicate directly with vendors to resolve delivery issues and involve Engineering and Quality as needed
- Assist with supply chain management to support assembly and fabrication production goals
- Directly supervise Production Inventory Control associates and carry out supervisory responsibilities per company policies
- Manage special projects as assigned
- Maintain safety standards and stop work if conditions are unsafe
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, or similar course of study
- Minimum of 8 years of dynamic purchasing/expediting experience with emphasis on international suppliers and pull-based systems
- Professional certification in APICS, CPIM, Lean, Six Sigma (highly desirable)
- Comprehensive and in-depth working knowledge of production planning
- Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
- Excellent computer and communication skills
- Ability to accomplish work responsibilities from beginning to end with minimal supervision
- Continuous mental concentration and attention to detail
- Ability to forecast, strategically plan, negotiate, maintain flexibility, and work through conflict
- Supervisory experience or ability to directly supervise Production Inventory Control associates
- Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role
