About the role
- Create mechanical drawings and develop 3D models
- Complete 2D layout drawings and full 3D assembly models
- Perform job-related drawing creation for customer dimensional drawings from basic complexity to full BOM constructions
- Communicate and collaborate with many different functions within the company
- Apply GD&T and ANSI Y14 dimensioning standards to drawings
- Use CAD software (Solidworks/Creo or similar) and Microsoft Excel for design and documentation tasks
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and visualization skills
- Effective communication skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail and regard for quality
- Ability to follow directions and apply written standards to complete job assignments
- Skill using Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel
- Strong emphasis in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) coursework or experience
- Fundamental understanding and ability to apply ANSI Y14 Dimensioning standards
- File management software experience (PLM) preferred
- Experience with data management applications such as PDM preferred
- Experience using Solidworks/Creo software is a plus
- An associate’s degree in drafting/design with mechanical design experience using CAD software or an equivalent three years’ experience is required
