About the role
- Oversee procurement and management of bulk transformer oil for Emerald Transformer’s facilities and service centers.
- Develop, maintain, and execute a category strategy for transformer oil, including risk mitigation and cost reduction initiatives.
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding for new vendors while maintaining relationships with existing suppliers.
- Negotiate long-term supply agreements, pricing structures, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Monitor global and regional oil market trends, pricing indices, and freight costs to forecast budget impacts and secure competitive pricing.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews covering quality, on-time delivery, sustainability compliance, and responsiveness.
- Coordinate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure oil specifications meet industry standards (ASTM D3487, IEC 60296) and internal requirements.
- Monitor oil quality test reports and collaborate with quality teams to address non-conformances.
- Partner with logistics to manage freight carriers and ensure timely deliveries to all service centers.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels by tracking usage rates and forecasting demand.
- Report on cost savings, purchase price variance (PPV), and other procurement KPIs to management.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
- Support corporate sustainability initiatives by exploring reclaimed oil opportunities and verifying suppliers’ environmental compliance.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as health, safety, and environmental standards.

- Experience: 3–7 years of procurement or category management experience, preferably with bulk chemicals, lubricants, or transformer oil.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field (MBA or CPSM a plus).
- An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and associate relations.
