About the role
- Handle a high volume of ER cases such as disciplinary grievances, absence management, probation, AWOL, flexible working, and TUPE.
- Lead on weekly operational case management meetings.
- Advise line managers on informal and formal ER issues, ensuring consistent and fair application of policies.
- Leading on case work where managers need more development.
- Ensure all advice aligns with current legislation and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate records of ER cases and resolutions using internal systems.
- Upskill managers on handling ER matters effectively and legally.
- Liaise with trade unions or employee representatives when necessary.
- Track ER KPIs and contribute to service improvement strategies.
Requirements
- Able to provide remote ER and face to face support for a multi-site operation.
- Experience of providing HR advice in line with relevant policies and legislation.
- Well organised with the ability to plan, prioritise and manage high volume of case work and queries to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to write clear, understandable and concise correspondence with excellent attention to detail and telephone manner.
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Understanding of customer requirements and the ability to confidently recommend solutions to problems/issues with a commercial approach where required.
- Pro-active and practical approach to problem solving.
- Good working knowledge of current employment legislation and its application in the workplace.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office programmes.
- Experience of working within a Shared Service environment or busy HR Department (Desirable).
- Understanding of HR systems/technology / HR software / CRM (Desirable).
- Knowledge of working within Health Care or similar (Desirable).
- Currently studying or have completed CIPD level 3 as a minimum and keen to progress (Desirable).
- A minimum of 3 years HR experience with a good understanding and confidence when providing practical and commercial HR advice (Desirable).
