About the role
- Support complex commercial transactions, including SaaS, licensing, and strategic partnerships, and help navigate diverse legal and regulatory frameworks in AI.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and close complex commercial agreements with customers, suppliers, and strategic partners.
- Partner with regional sales, business development, and operations teams to design and implement strategies that support high-growth go-to-market initiatives.
- Monitor and interpret evolving legal and regulatory developments, including data protection, technology, and AI-related frameworks, and apply this knowledge to contract drafting and risk assessment.
- Develop, maintain, and localize contract templates, playbooks, and policies to reflect regional requirements and industry best practices.
- Provide clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal advice to cross-functional teams, balancing innovation with regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to scaling the Legal Team’s commercial function, fostering a collaborative, solutions-oriented team culture.
- Work closely with global colleagues to enable growth while managing risk across multiple jurisdictions.
Requirements
- JD with active membership in at least one U.S. state bar (New York preferred).
- 6-12 years of relevant legal experience (in-house experience with technology or SaaS companies strongly preferred).
- Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property.
- Experience advising on privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfer issues.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Curious about the future of AI and emerging technologies.
- Experienced in navigating fast-paced, high-growth environments, able to manage ambiguity and make informed, timely decisions.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional and global colleagues.
- Proactive, business-minded, and committed to delivering practical solutions that support both compliance and commercial success.
