About the role

  • Shape the Eight Sleep website and drive design of engaging, intuitive, and seamless experiences to help users discover and purchase a Pod
  • Collaborate closely with Growth, Brand & Marketing, Product and Engineering teams to craft data-driven designs balancing aesthetics with usability
  • Lead the creation of the e-commerce experience, covering information architecture, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups
  • Support customer discovery team with usability studies and user interviews to inform design work
  • Combine qualitative and quantitative insights to iterate designs that improve web experience and impact conversion and retention
  • Present work and prototypes to stakeholders and executives, and own design documentation for engineering handoff
  • Build, document, and organize UI components of the web design system with web engineering
  • Serve as subject matter expert for web design patterns and interactions, researching emerging web and e-commerce trends
  • Collaborate to ship world-class web experience

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in web/e-commerce UX and UI
  • A portfolio showcasing high quality, thoughtful UI and UX work, with key web-based projects
  • You’ve shipped your designs to public users and have data that proves either success or failure
  • Ability to consider the technical implications of design decisions and balance new user value with technical effort
  • Obsession with simplicity and high-quality aesthetics in design
  • Ability to manage the design process end-to-end in ambiguous environments
  • Passion for user research, including developing and executing user interviews and testing
  • Ability and flexibility to iterate fast and often
  • Confidence writing clear agendas and presenting design evolutions to C-Suite leadership
  • Excited about building a fast-growing brand into an iconic company
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related design field or equivalent experience
