Product Manager

• As a Staff Product Manager at ecobee, you will gain experience as a senior leader in a growing business.
• Work closely with some of the industry’s biggest device manufacturers, platform owners, and service providers to deliver a cohesive and delightful ecobee experience within our ecosystem, and within partner ecosystems.
• Partner with your peers in product and business development to develop, evangelize, and execute a platform strategy for each of ecobee’s businesses.
• Establish and execute a strategy for key standards, initially with Matter which governs interoperability across smart home devices.
• Lead the product discovery process by working directly with current and future customers, including conducting interviews and research to define business requirements.
• Understand the customers that use the products today, why they do so and how can we make their lives better with product innovation.
• Define and execute on clear success metrics and support the team to achieve them.
• Track teams’ progress on set goals and milestones and provide regular updates to the management team on program status.
• Help the team navigate tough decisions by surfacing trade-offs and making a clear, rational recommendations.

Staff Product Manager – Ecosystem and Integrations

Mechanical Engineer

• Lead mechanical design from overall architecture through detailed drawings and documentation
• Optimize existing products for improved quality, capacity, and cost efficiency
• Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) throughout development: identify issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering) and external suppliers to ensure new products meet design, quality, and cost targets
• Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure on-time, on-plan product launches
• Research and evaluate materials, components, and emerging technologies for innovative solutions
• Oversee prototype builds with suppliers and contract manufacturers, ensuring specifications, budget, and schedule are met
• Administer PLM processes: release prototypes, author assembly/test procedures, and hand off to mass production
• Source and qualify vendors, suppliers, and contractors; build strategic relationships for global component sourcing
• Define, procure, and qualify test equipment for product validation and compliance
• Hands-on integration of design and production; shepherd prototypes into high-volume manufacturing
• Required hands-on presence in Toronto office 3–5 days per week

Analytics Engineer

• Operate at the intersection of data engineering and analytics to deliver analytics-ready data assets
• Design scalable, robust, and reusable silver-layer models, standardized dimensional schemas, and curated gold-layer data marts
• Develop semantic layers and data catalogs to enable flexible dashboarding and self-service analytics
• Build and optimize Lakehouse silver/gold data pipelines and ensure seamless data flow
• Implement rigorous data validation, pipeline monitoring, data documentation, and lineage tracking
• Collaborate with engineering, domain experts, and cross-functional teams to define data requirements and manage schema changes
• Drive critical data initiatives, provide mentorship, and champion best practices to improve data maturity
