About the role

  • Define and lead product strategy and delivery for Open VSX and other high-growth services, as assigned by the interim Head of Products
  • Drive adoption, activation, and retention using product-led growth strategies tailored for developer tools and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with engineering, IT, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver enhancements that improve reliability, performance, and usability
  • Define, measure, and optimize growth metrics such as activation rates, user engagement, retention, and churn
  • Design and run experiments to test onboarding flows, pricing strategies, and feature performance
  • Maintain a growth-focused product backlog and communicate trade-offs, priorities, and rationale with stakeholders
  • Partner with marketing, ecosystem development, and community teams to create outreach campaigns and content that support growth goals
  • Help shape commercial offerings for enterprise users while ensuring individual developers and open source projects retain free access
  • Use feedback from user interviews, surveys, and analytics to guide product decisions and roadmap priorities
  • Align product growth efforts with broader foundation goals for sustainability, neutrality, and impact.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in SaaS product management, preferably with developer platforms or tools
  • Track record of successfully working with developer communities
  • Experience in open source is highly desirable

  • Proven track record in product-led growth, particularly in B2B or developer-centric environments
  • Demonstrated success in engaging and influencing developers and technical leaders
  • Fluent in English with proven proficiency in working in an English business environment
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter, comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision, able to take initiative and drive projects forward independently
  • Flexible and adaptable generalist, willing to contribute beyond a narrowly defined scope and tackle dynamic challenges in evolving environments
  • Strong analytical and experimental mindset with experience designing and interpreting A/B tests, funnel analyses, and behavioral metrics
  • Analytical mindset with a strong curiosity to measure, test, learn, and iterate for optimal results
  • Ability to independently drive high-quality work with meticulous attention to detail
