Support suicide prevention, resilience, and risk reduction initiatives focused on military populations, including National Guard units
Leverage evidence-based practices (Army Suicide Prevention Program, ACE training model, National Guard’s Warrior Resilience and Fitness Division) to deliver training and support
Deliver high-impact training and curriculum development for adult learners and evaluate program effectiveness
Provide briefings and training to diverse audiences, including military leaders and executive audiences
Coordinate with team members to ensure comprehensive coverage of program needs, share expertise, and support program evaluation efforts
Track data, develop metrics, and use Microsoft Office (especially Excel) for reporting
Travel to state units across the geographic assignment (California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado/Denver, New Mexico, Hawaii) and work variable schedules including weekends
Organize work, set priorities, meet multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing training requirements
Collaborate with subject matter experts, program evaluators, and community organizations to ensure curriculum relevance and impact
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher (Subject Matter Expert and Curriculum Development tracks)
Master's degree preferred for Subject Matter Expert and Curriculum Development positions (may be waived for extensive relevant experience)
Master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited school (Prevention Specialist track)
Hold state license/certification to independently practice social work at the master's degree level (Prevention Specialist track)
Minimum of 5 years' experience in suicide prevention training or curriculum development (multiple tracks)
Minimum of 5 years post-licensure clinical experience or related field (Prevention Specialist)
10+ years of direct military experience preferred (Subject Matter Expert), preferably with the National Guard
Experience working with or supporting National Guard units in resilience or mental health programs is highly desirable
Expertise in delivering suicide prevention training (e.g., ACE model) and translating military-specific mental health challenges into training
Experience designing curricula for adult learners and evaluating training effectiveness
Teaching, instructing, and briefing skills, including executive-level audiences
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and metric development; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet multiple deadlines, and evaluate training programs
Willingness to travel to state units and training sites across the geographic region of assignment
Ability to work variable schedules, including many weekends
Proficiency collaborating with diverse stakeholders (military personnel, civilians, community organizations)
Strong communication skills for briefing and training diverse audiences
