About the role

  • Lead and manage the team on a day‑to‑day basis, including workload allocation, capability and licence oversight, coaching, regular 1:1s, appraisals, and absence management.
  • Provide technical supervision and expert guidance across casualty and motor caseloads.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with corporate clients and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end claims handling from notification through to resolution.
  • Work collaboratively with insurers, counsel, and internal teams to progress claims efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records and electronic files, ensuring full KPI/SLA compliance.
  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor volumes, live hire, portal performance, and retention.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in claims management, preferably in motor or casualty.
  • Strong understanding of insurance principles and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
  • Proficiency in claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with bordereaux reporting and insurer liaison (desirable).
  • Familiarity with internal claims handling for law firms or corporate entities (desirable).
