About the role
- Lead and manage the team on a day‑to‑day basis, including workload allocation, capability and licence oversight, coaching, regular 1:1s, appraisals, and absence management.
- Provide technical supervision and expert guidance across casualty and motor caseloads.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with corporate clients and key stakeholders.
- Oversee end‑to‑end claims handling from notification through to resolution.
- Work collaboratively with insurers, counsel, and internal teams to progress claims efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records and electronic files, ensuring full KPI/SLA compliance.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor volumes, live hire, portal performance, and retention.
Requirements
- Proven experience in claims management, preferably in motor or casualty.
- Strong understanding of insurance principles and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
- Proficiency in claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with bordereaux reporting and insurer liaison (desirable).
- Familiarity with internal claims handling for law firms or corporate entities (desirable).
