About the role
- Lead and supervise the operations group at assigned sites
- Deliver operational and financial results in accordance with budgeting commitments
- Merge routine operations with asset management responsibilities
- Optimize financial results while meeting safety and environmental objectives
- Develop and reinforce DTE’s Service Keys: Safe, Caring, Dependable, Efficient
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Develop an employee culture conducive to a healthy work/life balance
- Operate and maintain a DOT regulated pipeline
- Participate in and direct day-to-day operation and maintenance activities
- Ensure facility is operated in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
- Support the annual O&M budget development with the Plant Manager
- Control expenditures to ensure costs remain within budget
- Prepare periodic status reports on operating performance
- Implement a planned maintenance program
- Conduct periodic training for all plant personnel in appropriate topics
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years progressive experience in a gas processing facility, power generation, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment
- Supervisor or managerial experience preferred
- Understanding of the operation and maintenance of plant equipment
- Working knowledge of process equipment and systems
- Understanding of energy efficiency practices and energy conservation techniques
- Knowledge of the regulatory processes under which the facility operates
- Strong organizational skills
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management clearly
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
- Familiarity with email, scheduling, time reporting software applications
- Proven ability to complete tasks, assignments, and projects without significant supervision
- General understanding of income statements and the fiscal impact of operational and maintenance decisions
