About the role

  • Lead and supervise the operations group at assigned sites
  • Deliver operational and financial results in accordance with budgeting commitments
  • Merge routine operations with asset management responsibilities
  • Optimize financial results while meeting safety and environmental objectives
  • Develop and reinforce DTE’s Service Keys: Safe, Caring, Dependable, Efficient
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Develop an employee culture conducive to a healthy work/life balance
  • Operate and maintain a DOT regulated pipeline
  • Participate in and direct day-to-day operation and maintenance activities
  • Ensure facility is operated in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
  • Support the annual O&M budget development with the Plant Manager
  • Control expenditures to ensure costs remain within budget
  • Prepare periodic status reports on operating performance
  • Implement a planned maintenance program
  • Conduct periodic training for all plant personnel in appropriate topics

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5 years progressive experience in a gas processing facility, power generation, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment
  • Supervisor or managerial experience preferred
  • Understanding of the operation and maintenance of plant equipment
  • Working knowledge of process equipment and systems
  • Understanding of energy efficiency practices and energy conservation techniques
  • Knowledge of the regulatory processes under which the facility operates
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management clearly
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
  • Familiarity with email, scheduling, time reporting software applications
  • Proven ability to complete tasks, assignments, and projects without significant supervision
  • General understanding of income statements and the fiscal impact of operational and maintenance decisions
