About the role
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and management of staff at the generating plant.
- Provides direct supervision and leadership of the operations group.
- Manages the fuel yard, including safe and efficient storage and mixing of biomass fuel.
- Develops, implements and manages plant operating philosophies and best practices.
- Investigates operating abnormalities and incidents for improvement.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 6 years of supervisory experience in a solid fuel fired power plant, or
- Associate degree with at least 4 years of supervisory experience in a solid fuel fired power plant, or
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a solid fuel fired power plant
- Knowledge of environmental and compliance permits
- Understanding of power plant operations, steam turbine technology, and maintenance functions.
- Ability to analyze and improve operational and maintenance processes
- Proficient in MS applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to pass respirator fit tests
