About the role

  • Drive growth using strong consulting experience and knowledge of the Metals and Mining market
  • Develop and maintain senior client relationships, engaging C-suite stakeholders across the metals and mining sector in Sub-Saharan Africa
  • Drive business growth by identifying client challenges and converting them into consulting opportunities aligned with dss+ capabilities
  • Lead business development efforts, building and managing a strong pipeline across target accounts and priority markets
  • Oversee the delivery of complex consulting engagements, ensuring high-quality outcomes that deliver measurable value for clients
  • Shape and expand dss+’s value proposition by identifying opportunities for new services, solutions, and market expansion
  • Contribute to thought leadership, developing intellectual capital such as points of view, white papers, and industry insights
  • Represent dss+ externally, building the firm’s reputation through industry networks, events, and partnerships
  • Lead and develop consulting teams, providing mentorship and coaching to build capability and ensure strong project execution
  • Support the execution of the regional strategic plan, driving growth and strengthening the firm’s presence in key markets
  • Champion dss+ values and culture, acting with integrity and fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or business (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
  • 15+ years of professional experience, including 8+ years in management or operations consulting
  • Strong expertise in operations consulting, ideally including operational risk management, operational excellence, or transformation
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex engagements for Metals & Mining clients
  • Proven business development track record, including originating and expanding client engagements
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability, and structured problem solving
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills, with experience leading multidisciplinary consulting teams
  • Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
